William Penn Track and Field Travels to Drake for the Jim Duncan Invitational

The William Penn men’s and women’s track and field team traveled to Drake University last weekend for competition and left their mark for WPU.
The William Penn’s Junior Gabriel Green won the 100-meter dash and received second in the 200 meter dash. Green ran the 100-meter dash in 10.92 seconds.
Armond Thigpen, John Kilgore, and Kenbea Walker, and Gabriel Green participated in the 4×100-meter relay where they received a third place finish with a time of 42.74 seconds.
For the women’s track and field squad, the team’s 4×1 earned a fourth place finish with a time of 49.62. Contributing to the 4×100-meter dash was Akexis Swinney, Sade Myers, Fatoumata Samura, and Shaniece Dishmon.
Harris and Samura also earned William Penn seventh place finishes as well. Harris earned seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.67 seconds. Samura earned it in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.10.
